Η ΚΑΛΛΙΤΕΧΝΙΚΗ ΟΜΑΔΑ

Η Μαρία Ζερβού γεννήθηκε (1983) και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα. Είναι κάτοχος πτυχίου του τμήματος «Επιστημών της Εκπαίδευσης και της Αγωγής στην Προσχολική Ηλικία» του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών, μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου στις «Θεατρικές Σπουδές», με ειδίκευση στη Θεατρική Αγωγή, του Ανοιχτού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και απόφοιτος του τριετούς «Εργαστηρίου Θεατροπαιδαγωγικής» του Σχολείου Παιχνιδιού της Μαντώς Κουρετζή. Εργάστηκε για 8 χρόνια στην Αθήνα ως παιδαγωγός και θεατροπαιδαγωγός σε δημόσιους και ιδιωτικούς φορείς. Το 2015 εγκαταστάθηκε μόνιμα στη Μονεμβάσια, τόπο καταγωγής της, και ίδρυσε εκεί τον πολιτιστικό χώρο «Κυμοθόη», όπου στεγάζονται οι θεατρικές δραστηριότητές της, και παράλληλα φιλοξενούνται άλλες δράσεις που σχετίζονται με τις τέχνες και την πολιτιστική εκπαίδευση των κατοίκων. Από το 2017 έως και το 2023 συναργάστηκε με τον οργανισμό «Between the seas» συμμετέχοντας στη διοργάνωση του διεθνούς προγράμματος φιλοξενίας καλλιτεχνών που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Κάστρο Μονεμβασίας. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, την απασχολεί ιδιαιτέρως η διάδοση των παραστατικών τεχνών στην επαρχία και γι' αυτό το σκοπό ίδρυσε το 2019 την «Θόη, Αστική Μη Κερδοσκοπική Εταιρεία Παραστατικών Τεχνών». Για τον ίδιο σκοπό συνεχίζει, σήμερα, τις σπουδές της στο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα του ΑΠΚ «Πολιτιστική Πολιτική και Ανάπτυξη». Σε συνεργασία με κοινωφελείς πολιτιστικούς φορείς και με τη συμμετοχή των κατοίκων της περιοχής έχει διοργανώσει θεατρικά εργαστήρια για παιδιά, εφήβους και ενήλικες (2025 έως σήμερα), σεμινάρια, εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα, εκδηλώσεις και παραστάσεις, μεταξύ των οποίων: «Φαλακρή τραγουδίστρια» (2018), «Παλιοί καιροί» (2019), «Ζαν Κοκτώ: είμαι ένα ψέμα που λέει πάντα την αλήθεια» (Αφιέρωμα, 2019-2020), «Πράξη χωρίς λόγια: διασκευή για δύο» (2020), «I am another: πρόγραμμα ανταλλαγής νέων» (2022), «Voltes performance lab» (2023), «Αέρας» (2024), «Η ανυπακοή του Λάιου» (2025) κ.ά. Πυξίδα για κάθε δράση που αναλαμβάνει είναι η ενίσχυση της πολιτιστικής ταυτότητας της επαρχίας και δη της Μονεμβασίας.

Γαρυφαλιά Κοντραφούρη

Είναι χορογράφος, δασκάλα χορού και δημιουργός με έδρα την Αθήνα. Αποφοίτησε το 2023 από την Ανώτερη Σχολή Χορού του Ωδείου Αθηνών, όπου υπήρξε μέλος του Corporis Miracula Ensemble υπό τη διεύθυνση της Λίλας Ζαφειροπούλου. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών της εργάστηκε ως χορεύτρια στις παραγωγές Μηχανισμός Διαχωρισμού (2020) και EmitTime (2023) του Συνόλου και συμμετείχε στην παράσταση Η Μηχανή Άμλετ του Heiner Müller, σε σκηνοθεσία Περικλή Μουστάκη (2022). Έχει παρακολουθήσει σεμινάρια αυτοσχεδιασμού με τον Julyen Hamilton, τεχνικής GAGA με την Keren Lurie Pardes και κλασικού μπαλέτου με τους Luc Bouy και Gaetano Petrosino. Στρέφεται σταδιακά στη χορογραφία, παρουσιάζοντας τα έργα Vos iz tifer και Si tu mourrais un jour (Ωδείο Αθηνών, 2022) ενώ το 2024 δημιουργεί και παρουσιάζει το RUNDEVU, video dance project. Παράλληλα, αναπτύσσει ενεργή παρουσία σε καλλιτεχνικές παραγωγές ως βοηθός χορογράφου, επιμελήτρια κίνησης και stage manager στα έργα Kraanerg (Εναλλακτική Σκηνή ΕΛΣ, 2022), Sarcophagus (Athens Video Dance Project, 2022), Right Eye’s Truth (Μ54 Art Space, 2024), ενώ το 2025 συνυπογράφει τη δραματουργία και συμμετέχει ως βοηθός χορογράφου στην παράσταση Έτσι κι Αλλιώς (Θέατρο Καλλιρόης). Ως δασκάλα, διδάσκει κλασικό και σύγχρονο χορό σε ενήλικες και είναι δημιουργός του εργαστηρίου Το Σώμα Τραγουδά: Ένα Παιχνίδι Χορογραφίας. Από το 2025 δραστηριοποιείται και στον τομέα της παραγωγής και της καλλιτεχνικής οργάνωσης. Είναι μέλος της ΑΜΚΕ Παραστατικών Τεχνών ΘΟΗ (έδρα: Μονεμβάσια Λακωνίας), η οποία αναπτύσσει καλλιτεχνικές παραγωγές και εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις στην περιφέρεια, και συνδημιουργός των χορογραφικών κύκλων ΚΙΝ.νΗΜΑΤΑ, μιας πλατφόρμας υποστήριξης νέων χορογράφων και χορευτών στις πρώτες τους παραγωγές χορού.

THE ARTISTIC TEAM

Maria Zervou
Founding Member · Management & Artistic Coordination

Maria Zervou was born in Athens in 1983, where she grew up. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Patras, a Master’s degree in Theatre Studies, specializing in Theatre Education, from the Open University of Cyprus, and is a graduate of the three-year Theatre Pedagogy Workshop at Manto Kourentzis’ “Scholeio Paichnidiou” (School of Play). She worked in Athens for eight years as an educator and theatre educator in public and private institutions. In 2015, she moved permanently to Monemvasia, her place of origin, where she founded the cultural space Kymothoi, which houses her theatre activities while also hosting initiatives related to the arts and cultural education for local residents. From 2017 to 2023, she collaborated with the organization Between the Seas, contributing to the organization of an international artist residency programme held at Monemvasia Castle. In recent years, she has been particularly interested in promoting the performing arts in rural and regional areas. With this aim, in 2019 she founded THOI, a Non-Profit Performing Arts Organization. She is currently continuing her studies in the postgraduate programme Cultural Policy and Development at the Open University of Cyprus, pursuing the same goal. In collaboration with cultural organizations working for the public benefit and with the participation of local residents, she has organized theatre workshops for children, teenagers and adults (2025–present), as well as seminars, educational programmes, events and performances, including: The Bald Soprano (2018), Old Times (2019), Jean Cocteau: I Am a Lie That Always Tells the Truth (tribute, 2019–2020), Act Without Words: Adaptation for Two (2020), I Am Another: Youth Exchange Programme (2022), Voltes Performance Lab (2023), Air (2024), The Disobedience of Laius (2025), among others. Her guiding principle in every project she undertakes is the strengthening of the cultural identity of rural and regional communities, and particularly that of Monemvasia.

Garyfallia Kontrafouri
Member · Artistic Coordination

Garyfallia Kontrafouri is a choreographer, dance teacher and creator based in Athens. She graduated in 2023 from the Higher School of Dance of the Athens Conservatoire, where she was a member of the Corporis Miracula Ensemble under the direction of Lila Zafeiropoulou. During her studies, she worked as a dancer in the Ensemble’s productions Mechanism of Separation (2020) and EmitTime (2023), and performed in Heiner Müller’s Hamletmachine, directed by Periklis Moustakis (2022). She has attended improvisation workshops with Julyen Hamilton, GAGA technique workshops with Keren Lurie Pardes, and classical ballet classes with Luc Bouy and Gaetano Petrosino. She gradually turned her focus towards choreography, presenting the works Vos iz tifer and Si tu mourrais un jour at the Athens Conservatoire (2022). In 2024, she created and presented RUNDEVU, a video dance project. Alongside her choreographic work, she has maintained an active presence in artistic productions as an assistant choreographer, movement director and stage manager, including Kraanerg (Greek National Opera Alternative Stage, 2022), Sarcophagus (Athens Video Dance Project, 2022), and Right Eye’s Truth (M54 Art Space, 2024). In 2025, she co-created the dramaturgy and worked as assistant choreographer on the performance Etso ki Allios at Kallirois Theatre. As a teacher, she teaches classical and contemporary dance to adults and is the creator of the workshop The Body Sings: A Choreographic Game. Since 2025, she has also been active in production and artistic coordination. She is a member of THOI, a Non-Profit Performing Arts Organization (based in Monemvasia, Laconia), which develops artistic productions and educational activities in regional areas. She is also a co-creator of KIN.nHMATA, a choreographic initiative supporting emerging choreographers and dancers in the development of their first dance productions.
